WORK BREAKDOWN STRUCTURE2Work Breakdown StructureAccording to the Flouris, Triant, and Dennis (2008), a work breakdown structure (WBS) is a logical, hierarchical tree of all the tasks needed to complete a project. The top of the tree is the project itself. The next layer or level down contains the main work packages. To be more specific, the work breakdown structure visually divides the entire project into several manageable sections that a project team can understand. Furthermore,the exact definition and detail of the sections will be provided at each level.According to the work breakdown structure (n.d.), the WBS provides several benefits, including defining and organizing the project.
