METEOROLOGY AND CLIMATOLOGY2Meteorology and ClimatologyMeteorology is the branch of science concerned with the processes and phenomena of theatmosphere, especially as a means of forecasting the weather. Meteorology is a branch of the atmospheric sciences. Meteorology, atmospheric chemistry, and atmospheric physics focus on all weather forecasting. In the mid to late 20th-century weather forecasting became more of a science. Before this time, weather forecasting relied on historical data. The expansion of the computer permitted for the automated solution of many equations that model the weather, providing breakthroughs. Meteorological phenomena are watching the weather events so that it can be explained by the science of meteorology. The aspects are described by variables of the Earths atmosphere, temperature, water vapor, air pressure, mass flow, and the interactions of these variables, and they change over time.
