RUNNINGHEAD: Unit 1 Assignment 2 The beginning of the article talks about how people were scared of the Federal Reserve stock pilling so much cash. They seen it as creditor’s not lending as much as they should to help the financial crisis. They also looked back at history and thought that it would be appropriate to put a cap on how much the Federal Reserve could stock pile and tax the excess. Some people even suggested that the bailout money that the banks received was just sitting in the banks untouched. The stock pilling of cash by the Federal Reserve was during the financial crisis of 2007-2009. In the first example that is given as to why the excess stock pile by the Federal Reserve is not a bad thing is that central banks can increase or reduce their interest rates on their own. central banks can set their short-term interest rate to a lower rate to
