WEIRD BELIEFS 2 Weird beliefs Weird beliefs have existed in several areas of knowledge, including the scientific field. According to Michael Shermer, (2013), bizarre views refer to a collection of opinions and theories which are unaccepted by many people in various areas of the scientific fields. It is also regarded as an impossible claim which can rarely be justified by many people (Shermer, 2013). The pieces of evidence for the claims made in a weird belief are unreliable, which can make it be easily disregarded. Some claims weird beliefs are reasonable. People have varied opinions concerning weird beliefs but I think that some of the beliefs like some people having ability to speak to the dead and psychics having ability to heal diseases might have some elements of truth (Powers, et al., 2017). People from diverse cultures around the world belief that it is possible to communicate with the dead (Powers, et al., 2017). It is also true that communication of spirits and ghosts is recorded in holy books like the bible. The psychics provoke the spirits to seek for remedy for the
