Those children who have advocates during latter events (reporting, law enforcement processes, clinical examination, clinical deposition and interviews, court and legal proceedings, and medical and counseling treatment) are more likely to grow into adulthood as emotionally healthy adults who cope well with the trauma inflicted on them in younger years. Those receiving not only appropriate medication where necessary, but individual and group counseling will likely cope better yet with the sequelae of events related to the assault than those receiving only one intervention.
