WORKPLACE ETHICS 2 Abstract The case study “Have Gun, Will Travel…to Work” entails a case study that elaborates on the rights that employees hold when it comes to having and keeping guns in their car at the workplace as well as the legal issues that accompany this right. Over the past decade, the Second Amendment and Gun control have become a controversial and an extreme issue as a result of a mass shooting that has been witnessed in the United States as well as the laws and legislation that are being enacted pertaining to gun control. The case states that the Second Amendment allows individuals to bear firearms but prohibits them from carrying these firearms, especially to the workplace. However, many still argue that we have a moral and constitutional right to possess firearms and also carry them with us wherever we go. The moral and legal issue of firearms is a complicated one especially when employees carry their guns to the workplace or on company-owned property. The Second Amendment gives people the mandate or right to possess guns but not bringing them to the workplace (Shaw, 2013). The aspect of employees carrying their guns to work or to the employer’s property falls under the state law as well as the rights of the organization owner and the individual rights which employees have in order to protect themselves. Furthermore, the Second Amendment allows us to own a gun. However, it is unclear whether people should carry the gun with them and if so, do we have the moral right? Do I have a legal right and a moral right to own a gun?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
