Pennsylvania Constitution Ali, Savannah, Kelton, Race, Daria, Lily, Mason, Alexander, Olivia, Natalie 1:Ali & Savannah●Government is designed to protect its inhabitants’ security, while preserving their God given and natural rights.●If the government is not successful in this, the people have the right to change it.●Not only has the King stopped protecting us, but has declared war on us. He has recruitedforgiven mercenaries and slaves to help the British soldiers in his quest to reduce the colonists to complete submission.●Due to numerous acts of tyranny, all allegiance to the King and his successors will cease, and the King will no longer have power over us.●It is necessary for our welfare and safety that we have just, permanent, and proper forms of government, founded on the authority of the people and the directions of the American Congress ●We, the freeman of Pennsylvania, met to create such a government. The Governor of the universe permits us, by common consent without violence, to form the rules we think bestfor governing our future society. It is our duty to establish principles of government that will promote the happiness of the people in this state and their posterity●The following Declaration of Rights and Frame of Government is the constitution of this commonwealth, and will remain in force and unaltered from now on, unless articles are decidedly in need of improvement.●In this case, the same authority of people, delegated as this frame of government directs, will amend or improve this to be more effectual2: KeltonI.All men are born equal, with inalienable human rights of life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness.II.All people have an inalienable right to worship their variation of the Christian God, and nobody can be forced to practice or not to practice a religion against their will. Furthermore, no law or authority can be allowed to influence the right to freedom of religion.III.The people of PA have the exclusive right to govern and regulate the police of their state.IV.All officers of government derive their power from the people, and therefore mustlive to serve the people.V.Government must be used to benefit the greater good of the people as a whole, notany singular person, party, or entity. Furthermore, the community has the right to reform, alter, or abolish their government if the government fails to serve the public interest.VI.The common people have the right to remove oppressive officers by removing them from office and putting their position up for election.
VII.All elections are to be free, and all free men have a right to elect officers into position or to be elected into office.3: Race●VIII. Everyone in society has the right to enjoy the rights of life, liberty and property, andmust make his contribution towards society. A citizens property may not be justly taken from them.
