Illegal Hiring 2 Analysis Involving Illegal Hiring In the society today we are faced with a lot of challenges in the cooperate world. In this illegal hiring incident, you would understand the process in which you can prevent this ever happening and have knowledge on what not to do within your own company. It would be in the best interest of the company to implement ethical canons to circumvent legal responsibility and create an added positive and competent work environment. In this particular situation the Human Resource Director would be the strategic partner. Producing a more confident and operative work atmosphere will help the company sidestep future liability claims by self-regulating and executing moral standards. The illegal hiring practices of the Bank of New York Mellon Crop. Is what the following case study will analyze. Illegal Hiring The Bank of New York Mellon Crop. was investigated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), which forbids U.S. companies from suborning overseas officials. Following the violating incident of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) included The Bank of New York Mellon Corp. the U.S. SEC issuing a cease and desist letter, stating that “Delivering them (internships) ‘was seen by certain relevant employees as a way to influence the officials’ decisions. The bank’s leadership required them to maintain good business relations with a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund by providing internships to family members of foreign government officials [ CITATION Jos19 \l 1033 ]. Consequently, managers at every level must concern themselves with HRM [ CITATION Mar19 \l 1033 ] . Human Resources plays a severe part in business ethics, they direct ethical standards, events and to ensure that the company follow those standards. Stated by (Mochiotto, 2019, pg.35) The values previously mentioned should be voiced to all employees, starting at the hiring procedure and strengthened on a regular basis, including identifying and gratifying those individuals who practice those values which was stated on.
