When I was 16 years old I witnessed my father deteriorate and die from bone cancer. There is a mental and physical transformation you see when watching someone battle with cancer. Being a teenager, it's not easy to process all that you witness and experience. My Grandmother was the foundation of our religious beliefs. We knew the pain and suffering we endured was nothing compared to the pain and realization my father had to go through knowing he was dying of cancer. When the doctor told my family that he only had days left to live, prayer for strength and clarity became a focus for him and the family overall. I found comfort in the fact that my father had a
