The competitive edge – Weekly Report – BSBWOR501 Q1. Conduct some online research on the future direction of your industry. How do you see your own industry’s work, worker and workplace developing over the next ten years? The workforce will become increasingly multigenerational and diverse, while the workspace will become more flexible and agile. There will be a need to modify policies, salaries, benefits and office layouts, to accommodate the needs of the new professional. Leaders within the IT industry believe that the ongoing growth of cloud-based services will create a myriad of job opportunities in the future, with the majority of companies using some form of cloud computing.4 And as more and more businesses implement cloud servers, there will also be a need for cyber security measures to be put in place to manage risk. There are a number of opportunities in our branch into this industry – learning the skills you need to create an interconnected workspace, getting the expertise needed to develop and manage cloud computing software, or to learn how to protect your future company from inevitable cyber threats.
