INFANCY 2 INFANCY The infancy stage is one of the most exciting stages of a child’s life. During infancy, which is from birth to two years of age, children go through many different physical, social and cognitive changes. During this stage the child will learn how to reach for items, they begin to recognize familiar faces, and they learn how to play with others. It is during the infancy stage that the child will go through several changes over a short period of time. There are many different physical changes that a child goes through while they are in the infancy stage. It is during this time that they start to develop motor skills. Children learn how to lift their head and hold it up on their own, they learn to crawl, reach for toys and will even take their first steps and begin walking all within the first two years.
