Enron Scandal 2 Houston Natural Gas merged with InterNorth by Kenneth Lay in 1985 to form Enron corporation. Enron encountered a lot of challenges in its beginning but it managed to survive. In 1988, the electrical power markets deregulation allowed a company that was to function within the lines to be innovative as well as creative in its practices. Deregulation enabled Enron to develop its market. This enabled the company acquire assets in paper plants, electricity plants, water plants, pulp, and broadband services globally as well as assets in the natural gas pipelines (Shoaib & Rabeet, 2012). After expanding its markets, Enron grew and in four years, it had an increment of more than 750% of revenue. Its peak was in 2000 where its annual revenue was over $100 billion and on the Fortune 500’s, it was ranked 6th largest in the world.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
