THE PROHIBITION The prohibition started in 1920 and lasted for 13 years and ended in 1933. The prohibition was when purchasing alcohol was either restricted or illegal. It was put into effect to lower the crime rate, reduce social issues, lower taxes, and overall, improve Americas health and wellness.

HARLEM RENAISSANCE The Harlem Renaissance was a time of African American expression of art, writing, music, photography, etc. Many African Americans used their creativity as musicians, artists, etc. as their outlet.

FUNDAMENTALISM The official definition of fundamentalism is: “a form of a religion, especially Islam or Protestant Christianity, that upholds belief in the strict, literal interpretation of scripture.” Fundamentalist took the bible very literally.
