Kaylee Ward 4-25-18 Ecology Essay Racing Extinction Essay The main idea of the “Racing Extinction” movie is to persuade people through emotional contact to try and help save species that are close to extinction. They used different species such as manta rays, sharks, and other various sea animals to try to appeal to our emotions. One example of them using emotional contact to try to get you to help these endangered animals, are when they showed how the manta rays are being hunted and killed. They went to a village that relies on manta rays to be hunted and killed, for a source of income to their families. They go to the village and try to persuade these people to try to find another source of income, and explain how they need to be able to sustain the manta ray species before they go instinct.
