As a response to this, the government grew its balance sheet policies During the financial crisis in 2008, the government created different innovative programs. Many perceived that the amount of programs created could cause inflation problems following an economy recovery When we got towards the tail end of 2008, the recession America was caught in deepened with the hope of a considerable monetary policy funds rate shortfall. As a response to this happening, the government grew its balance and sheet policies. The reason for this was to lower the cost as well as improve the availability of credit for both businesses and households. A key element for this growth involved purchasing long-term securities within the open market. The thought behind this move is that while the fund rates and other differing short-term interest rates could fall, there is also the hope for a considerable scope to lower lone-term interests.
