Lab Questions 1. In the scene with Don and Lina acting in the silent film (31:51), what role does the director play? How is it different from and similar to directing a film today? The director is telling the actors how they should feel/act as they’re being filmed. He also tells the “camera crew” when to start rolling. He tells them what do, for example he tells Don to “enter”. This directing is like directing today because in both cases directors “direct” the actors. A difference is that directors today can not talk to the actors as they’re filming, because todays films are not silent ones. 2. In the musical scene that begins at time code 34:42 and continues to 38:47, what do you think the filmmaker's purpose is for this scene? Do you think the function is achieved? If you were the filmmaker, would you make any changes to this scene? If so, what would you change? If not, why not?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
