Some Recommendations My research confirms that there appear to be no legal restrictions or other barriers or reasons for the Government not to accommodate persons with sensory disabilities in its copyright law. In addition to its international commitments, it is morally, politically and legally obliged, in terms of its own liberal Constitution, to provide these rights to persons with disabilities as a matter of urgency. I therefore make the following recommendations which may be helpful to the SA Government, to ensure that access to knowledge is prioritised and that it becomes a reality in our copyright legislation and other relevant laws in the near future. The SA Government should prioritise this matter and commit to remedying the current copyright situation as expeditiously as possible, by finalising its IP Policy Framework. Thereafter, it needs to amend the Copyright Act and Regulations appropriately, so that South Africa
