What is Mobile OS? A mobile operating system (OS) is software that allows smartphones, tablet PCs and other devices to run applications and programs. Examples of Mobile OS :
Android ❖ The Android Operating System is a Linux-based OS developed by the Open Handset Alliance (OHA). The Android OS was originally created by Android, Inc. the later bought by Google and responsible continued development of the Android OS. ❖ Allow users to manipulate mobile devices easily, with phone interactions that mirror common motions, such as pinching, swiping, and tapping. ❖ It is designed primarily for touchscreen devices, cell phones, and tablets. ❖ Extended to be used for televisions, cars, and wristwatches, each fitted with unique user interfaces.
iOS ❖ Apple iOS is created and developed by Apple Inc. ❖ iOS is an underlying software that allows iPhone users to interact with their phones using gestures such as swiping, tapping and pinching on multi-touch
