The world's first democracy was in greece but was not a true democracy because only citizens vote, but the only citizens were white landowning males. 2. What is a "true" democracy? A form of government where the people vote for who they want to represent them, and is based off of majority rule. 3. What does rhetoric have to do with democracy? Democratic representative use rhetoric to get the voters to elect them. 4. How did the influence of rhetoric spread throughout the world? Political and religious representatives used rhetoric in major countries which spread to smaller countries. s 5. What is the definition of bias? The definition of bias is prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair. Critical Thinking Questions 1. Why do you think people found Hitler's rhetoric so persuasive? Explain your answer.
