Taelor Nebel I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings Memoir Due: 04/15/19 They always say in the eye of a hurricane there is quiet. I relate this to the fitting room work area at the beloved corporate powerhouse that is the soccer mom’s heaven...Old Navy. This past summer, I turned 16, which meant to my mom that I was to “start providing for the household”, also known as, getting a basic summer job to earn a little cash for myself. Thus came the intricate task of searching like an explorer for an occupation, but instead of getting some ancient treasure, I got some humble hourly wage. So where to look? I knew somewhat my desires, which was not a restaurant, somewhere with a discount, preferably retail, and maybe where I could get clothes, because what embodiment of a stereotypical, bubbly 16-year-old girl doesn't love clothes. I loved Old Navy, and still do because of their nicely priced, basic clothes, but looking back, I should have explored a different number of options before settling for the first opportunity that sprang before my impervious mind.
