Randomisation and blinding In the study that was conducted by Sakamoto et al. (2012), the main objective had been investigating the effects that the olfactory stimulation intervention using lavender can have on the fall incidence amongst the elderly nursing home residents. The method of randomisation and blinding have been efficiently employed by the researchers of the study as the same had enabled them to ensure that the study that has been conducted is free from any kind of biasness. Sakamoto et al. (2012) had employed the use of computer generated randomisation of the numbers so as to randomise the participants of the study. Furthermore, the study staff and participants were blinded to the outcome measurements as well as the treatment groups, so as to ensure an unbiased study, until the end. Suresh (2011) had mentioned that randomisation ensures that each of the patient of the study had an equal chance to receive any of the treatments that were included in the study as well as
