Unit 3 IDs French and Indian War 1754-1763 French and the Natives against the English colonies Colonies want to expand themselves into French territory, but the French and the Natives wanted to keep their land War in the west vs war in the north Technically, colonies won and signed the Peace of Paris with France, giving them land but Natives still blocked them out, so Colonies didn’t really gain anything Important because colonies still wanted land and were willing to kill Natives for it; put England into debt which resulted in the Revenue Act Albany Plan of Union 1754 Ben Franklin says join or die Attempt to have a unified government for the colonies in preparation for the French and Indian War Important bc it is the first attempt for unification of many leading up to the American Revolution The Proclamation line of 1763 1763 At the end of the French and Indian War, after the Peace of Paris, the Natives were upset because the colonies were taking land that wasn’t theirs To appease the Natives, the proclamation Line was established to tell the colonists
