Jordan Montoya Business Law 3/21/2019 Chapter 19 Assignment 1 PART I According to the article, Parker’s reputation was damaged as the gossip involved her actual work in being promoted to higher positions. In this case, I agree that employers should be held liable for malicious gossip in the work environment. As stated in the article, it is wrong for Parker to get the reputation she got by saying she did not earn her promotions. Employers should be aware of what is going on in the workplace and it is their job to make sure employees are doing their job without causing disturbance. If I had to manage gossip in the workplace I would call a meeting of all supervisors to address the situation. To stop it,we would have to call a meeting for all employees to address the situation without calling out certain people. The remedy would be to meet with individual employees and tell them
