Nana Busia IS 340 Professor Lee February 7th 2019 Bridging the Digital Divide The Digital Divide, which refers to the unequal access to computer technology within various populations. It matters to children and their families because some families do not have the money to spend on technology. Studies shown that people who have access to computer technology and have computer skills, generally tend to have an educational edge. Some families are not in the information age budget. A non-profit organization named One Laptop per Child (OLPC) created a project, XO-1, a computer that was designed for child use. Digital Divide should close in order to give all children and their families equal access to computers like others. It is important for a child to have access to technology because it allows them to have more knowledge, do good in school, feel better about themselves, and families will be more happier as well.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
