Moctezuma 1 Aileen Moctezuma Writing Plus 100P-01 Meredith James 9/5/18 I’ve never really had anyone who inspired or helped me develop my attitude toward becoming “literate”. Throughout the years, I believe that I taught myself how to become literate, not just myself but with the help of my teachers. One of my main goals by the end of high school was to improve with my literacy and grammar in my writings. I would think to myself how much I hate re reading my essays after I submit it and realize that i’ve made many grammar errors. It’s one of my pet peeves. However, I did receive a lot of help from my english teachers in middle school and high school. Growing up in a spanish speaking household used to be difficult for me in school when I was younger. My spanish and english would constantly get mixed up together where it allowed me to struggle in my writing an speech. Spanish was spoken the most throughout my elementary school years, this was due to the fact that a lot of students were coming from other countries where english wasn’t spoken enough. Students would have conversations in spanish, our teachers would speak spanish more than english, it truly felt like I was in another country. However, english was spoken as well in order for these students to learn and get accustomed. These students were struggling and I was able to help these students.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
