1. What are four main benefits of reflexology? According to chapter 20 reflexology is a focused pressure technique that is directed at the feet or the hands. It is based in the idea that there are different zones and reflex in different parts of the body that correlated to parts, organs or glands and systems of the body. Stimulation through reflexology of the reflex areas help the body correct itself and move to strengthen itself by returning to homeostasis. Zone therapy had emerged from reflexology that Dr. Fitzgerald has taught the application of pressure to different locations on the body deadening sensation in targeted areas and relieved pain. According to chapter 20 manipulating reflexes removes stress that activates a parasympathetic response to enable the blockages to be released by physiological change in the body.
