Re: Topic 4 DQ 1 When planning an EBP project one must consider the health care system where they want it to be implemented. For example, what kind of resources will be available and is the health care system ready to implement a new EBP project. Looking within the local level helps to identify needs that will benefit the individuals the healthcare system supports. It will be important to ensure that staff understand the new roles and have the knowledge and tools to carry them out. We can help reduce resistance to change by ensuring that staff understand the reasons for change and agree that change is needed. To help staff accept the changes ensure that they understand that these new practices offer strategies for providing high-quality care for patients. Identify and minimize practical barriers to using the new practices, such as resources available for introduction and implementation of practice change.
