Julie worked 7 hours of overtime and 44 hours regular. b) Hours overtime Diego works = 8 hours (at double time) Regular hourly rate for Diego = $10.25 Overtime pay = 10.25 x 2 = $20.5 per hour Amount paid for overtime = 20.5 x 8 = $164 Regular working hours for Ontario = 44 Amount paid for regular hours = 44 x 10.25 = 451 Therefore total working hours = 44 + 8 = 52 hours. Total weekly pay for Diego = regular + overtime = $451 + $164 = $615 Therefore, Diego is paid $615 weekly. c) Clare’s commission = 40% = 40/100 = 0.4 Total sales for Clare in a week = $1250 Clare’s gratuities = $153 Amount she earns off commissions = 0.4 x $1250 = $200 Clare’s total earnings = $200 + $ 153 = $353 Therefore, Clare earned $353 that week. 3.
