Contributions of endocrine system to Homeostasis: - If blood sugar increases, pancreas releases insulin which acts on the liver and allows excess glucose to convert to glycogen. - If blood sugar decrease, then the pancreas release glucagon and excess glycogen is converted into glucose. - If endocrine system shuts down the brain will not receive glucose hence no constant blood supply. 2. Diseases caused by Endocrine System Dysfunction: - Osteoporosis: in women bone loss is due to a drop in Estrogen levels. Estrogen supports osteoblasts. Bones weaken and prone to fracture.
