April 1, 2009 New Look This doctrine had to mesh with the Republican Party’s commitment to reducing federal spending and shrinking the federal government. The US created a crisis in which would seem conceivable that the threat of nuclear weapons was plausible. Government operations in other countries: The CIA participated in a subversive campaign to overthrow the Guatemalan government. US participated in the revolution both in Iraq and Iran. Planned invasion of Cuba Cautiousness of the Eisenhower Administration Eisenhower was elected in 1952, Republican, he left the New Deal state intact and may have even strengthened it a little bit. The French had difficulty retaining control over Vietnam and they suffered defeat, call for Americans to help the French. Eisenhower had no interest in committing the US fully to Vietnam, he did not want to put America in a vulnerable position as happened in Korean war, did not want to commit human or financial resources. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
