2 Short Paper: Aphasia Aphasia can be defined as the loss of comprehension or production of language. (Norman, 2019) Aphasia has four different classifications. Those classifications are Broca’s, Wernicke, anomic and global aphasia. To simplify things these four classifications can be broken into two categories which are fluent and non-fluent. The type of aphasia that will be described in this paper will be Broca’s aphasia. The language areas of the brain are all located near each other in the dominant hemisphere of the brain , which is typically the side opposite a person's dominant hand which allows the Broca’s area to help put words together fluently to speak more than one word at a time, forming complete understandable sentences. (Vega, 2019) Those who have been diagnosed with this aphasia will have a hard time articulating words effectively and may utter their words slowly. However, these individuals with broca’s can fully comprehend language that is spoken to them. Some other commons symptoms of Broca’s aphasia could include, difficulty forming full sentences, the inability to use verbs and omitting certain words similar to an, the, is etc. Broca’s aphasia stems from any impairment of the brain

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
