2 Ethical Issues Introduction When it comes down to treatment interventions for children and/or adolescents, it is imperative for parents or caregivers to consider what is deemed an appropriate ethical practice. When conducting assessments with infants and children it important for psychologists to be mindful of the ethical issues that may arise. (Posada, 2004) There are many ethical issues that should be considered or guarded against when developing treatment interventions for children or adolescents. Unlike adults, when it comes down to treatment interventions for children or adolescents you aren’t just dealing with the child or adolescent, you must also interact with the parents or guardians of that child or adolescent. Consent to Treatment As stated before, when providing treatment interventions for any child or adolescent, the professional must also include the parent or guardian.
