Week 6 Discussion While watching the video media Classroom Demonstrations: Strategic Processing it made me recall the years I taught science. I taught 3 rd -grade science and math for six years before just teaching math. My students favorite time was lab days because it was hands-on, and they could use their prior knowledge or schema when completing the interactive lab. According to Reutzel & Cooter, the schema is identified as a file cabinet of prior knowledge located in our brains (2016). The video media this week showcased a third-grade teacher Leigh-Ann Hildreth. Mrs. Hildreth’s 3 rd - grade class were engaged and excited about the lesson and the planned independent activities (Laureate Education, 2014i). The physical structure of the learning environment was set-up in a way where students have full access to all the tools, materials, and rich print they need to be academically successful. Mrs. Hildreth conducted a whole group lesson on the schema. I noticed Mrs. Hildreth interacted with her students engaging them in conversation and getting them excited about the activity. Mrs. Hildreth’s interaction proves she has built motivational relationships with his students as well as created a trusting and comfortable classroom environment. As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
