Data analyzing software is commonly used to handle big data.Big data involves data with volume, variety, and velocity. Volume refers to the quantityof data. Variety refers to the different types and structures of data. Velocity refers to theprocessing speed needed to handle the data.At my internship, I see how big data is used in the financial services industry. We are ableto look at buy and sell patterns of customers to determine if anything fraudulent isoccurring. The data used in this instance is referred to as big data because it is a largeamount of data that occurs and needs to be processed quickly. It is then looked at to seeif any transactions are outside of the normal patterns.
