Art History 2200 Fall 2007 Final Exam Study Guide (final exam will last 2 hours) 1.  Slide Identifications For each work shown (approximately 8 – 10), identify the artist, title, and exact date. 2.  Slide Comparisons You will need to identify the displayed works (artist, title, date) and then construct an  essay that compares and contrasts them.  In some instances, a specific issue or question  will be provided for you, and in other cases you will have to decide the most meaningful  way(s) to frame the comparison/contrasts.  When you think through the logic of the  comparison, do not simply list random similarities and differences; instead, consider why  the particular works are being juxtaposed with one another, and think about what issue(s)  are most forcefully raised by their comparison.  You need to use your observations in the  service of a larger point (which you should state plainly and then explicate). You will be given three slide comparison essays.
