WEEK 1 JOURNAL2Week 1 JournalThis week in BUS687 here at Ashford University, we covered various aspects of analyzing business strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. We were instructed to participate in the “Grow your business” simulation to have a better understanding of how business analysis works. One of the main things I took away from this assignment and the beginning of this simulation was how detailed and intricate business analysis can be and how many factors play into the overall failure or success of the company. Creating a SWOT analysis which is qualitative and descriptive (Gurel, 2017) gives companies a starting point into examining their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Business problems come in all shapes and forms from vendor licensing issues to capital for expansion to eventually make operations more profitable in the long term.
