Hello Professor and class,The disorder that I was assigned this week is Marfan syndrome. While doing researched, I learned that Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissue. This disorder is rare and it cannot be cured. This disorder affects the heart, eyes, bones, and blood vessels. Connective tissue is what holds cells, organs, and tissue together and it helps the body develop the way it should. This disorder causes an increase of protein called transforming growth factor beta which affects the connective tissues.Because Marfan syndrome affects the body’s connective tissues, this causes a person with thisdisorder to have abnormalities. Typically those that have this disorder are normally very tall and slim, they will have long toes and fingers, as well as being very flexible.
