Hello Professor and class,The topic that I chose to research is tattoos. When someone gets a tattoo, the outer layer of theskin which is called the epidermis is where the needle penetrates the skin. The ink is thendelivered into the deeper layer of the skin which is called the dermis. This layer of the skin iswhere the nerves and blood vessels are. The ink becomes permanent because the ink isdelivered into the dermis and the white blood cells try to attack it because it is a foreignsubstance. The white blood cells also try to absorb all of the ink but the particles are too big tobe absorbed by the white blood cells.
