Extra Credit Homework #1 : Due September 6 th by the end of your scheduled class. (1) Watch The Family Man in the Economics in the Movies workbook and answer the following questions ($1,000): What is the opportunity cost (concept from chapter 2 which we will discuss on Tuesday’s class) of moving to the city? What is the opportunity cost of staying in Jersey? The opportunity cost of moving to the city is great. Nicholas Cage will lose his house, his memories, his friends and neighbors that he acquired living in NJ. He will lose a lot of the memories he has in his home. Memories are priceless. His wife isn’t so happy about moving, so he may lose a part of her, and if the children are happy in NJ, he may lose some of their respect and love. He will no longer have the job that he has now, so everything that goes along with that like the relationships that he has with coworkers. There is a certain amount of comfort that Cage has living in the suburbs and a certain amount of stress that comes with living in the city.
