Module 9: Information and process integration architectures Preview From an information systems perspective, data is one of the most important assets within the organization. In this module, you learn the importance of data and techniques used to safeguard data, such as semantic and syntactic validations used to ensure the integrity of data. The concept of metadata is introduced, along with the current standard- setting organizations dedicated to increasing the role of metadata in integrating data across the organization and with external stakeholders. You continue with process integration and the current leading process flow models. Process flow models are explained in terms of how the standards are evolving and replacing some of the data documentation techniques you learned in MS1 . Process flow models are important in developing communications between IT and professionals. They are used to establish an environment where business professionals will be more involved in the design, development, management, and monitoring of IT-supported business processes.
