Psychology 206 – Class Notes – 9/24/08 Exam 1 will cover chapters 1-6 (except for types of measurement scale on pages 136-139) There is a practice exam for Monday in the archive section on Sakai Exercise #11 is due Friday Exercise #10 is more complicated than what will be on the exam. What will be on the exam is more similar to what will be on the sample exam. The rule for random assignment is that the PARTICIPANTS have to be randomly assigned IN-CLASS HANDOUT – Statistics If you were told to make a frequency distribution, the table on the front page is what she is looking for. We want to include every possible score (value) in our range of scores (so range is from minimum 10 to maximum 19) Relative frequency – (n/N) = (f/N) Cumulative frequency = The number of observations at the current score and below (so the cumulative score for 19 is all of the observations =< 19 [which = 25 = N]) The top score should = the total number of observations You can also summate the relative frequencies to get the cumulative relative
