Point of view. This is how the story is told. According to what type of role the narrator is playing in the story you can tell whether it is told from the fist person point of view or the third person point of view. Theme. The theme is the meaning of the story. It is what the author is trying to show the reader about something. In fewer words, it is the author's meaning. Plot . The plot is the series of events carefully planned within the story. When all these events are put together we get the beginning, middle and end of the story. These events are clues linked together to tell the reader what's going on.
