Application of Attachment Theory: Tiffani Bradley Case Attachment Theory Attachment theory seeks to identify the biological bases of behavior and was a framework for Mary Salter Ainsworth’s Strange Situation experiment (Malerstein, 2005). More specifically this theory explores the relationship between an individual’s personal development being based on their physical and emotional attachment to the person who primarily took care of them. This caregiver that the child is attached to is who the child looks to for security and protection against the unknown. In the case of Tiffani Bradley, her attachment to her mother and her father was altered as a young child when they became addicted to drugs and did not protect her from being sexually assaulted.
