The Death of Stars Twitter MiniReportIn 1971, astronauts collected a moon rock that scientists have now found is likely to beoriginated on Earth. Researchers found that the rock, named 14321, contains traces of mineralsand has a chemical makeup that are both common to Earth and strange for the Moon. Theresearch team thinks that, most likely, a rock that formed on the Earth four billion years ago waslaunched t the Moon’s surface by an asteroid impact. Astronaut Alan Shepard hoisted the rockfrom the lunar surface and brought it back Earth for analysis. In studying the sample, theresearch team concluded that the rock likely formed at a low temperature in the presence ofwater and oxygen. This meaning it would most likely be associated with Earth and strange for it
