For over 50 years, the long-term care facility has provided patients with care based on strong religious beliefs. As health care evolves, the facility must conform with it. Everything in health care has become electronically accessible. Bethany Place has been presented with the opportunity to expand the facility. The facility will purchase a nearby resident facility and add 30 beds for rehabilitative care patients. In six months, the facility will receive theappropriate certifications and regulatory approvals needed. These improvements allow the facility to provide care for chronic care patients and recovery of acute head injury. The lack of electronic medical records is the problem Bethany Place needs assistance with addressing and overcoming.Scope of HIT SolutionThe change from paper medical records to electronic medical records allows care givers to transfer information in a timely and more effective manner. Also, electronic medical records reduce errors, better ensure patient confidentiality, and coordinate care from caregiver to caregiver.
