Organizational Project-Enabling ProcessesOrganizational project-enabling processes are defined in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 as follows:“The Organizational Project-Enabling Processes help ensure the organization’s capability to acquire and supply products or services through the initiation, support and control of projects. They provide resources and infrastructure necessary to support projects.”The processes are used to direct, enable, control, and support the system life cycle 3INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook v4

Life Cycle Model Management Process “As stated in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288,the purpose of the Life Cycle Model Management Process is to define, maintain, and assure availability of policies, life cycle processes, life cycle models, and procedures for use by the organization with respect to the scope of [ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288].”Provide repeatable/predictable performance across the projects in the organizationEnable process improvement across the organizationImprove startup of new projects (less reinventing the wheel)5

Life Cycle Model Management Process Process activitiesEstablish the processEstablish life cycle model management guidelines, tailoring guidance. Define, integrate, and communicate life cycle model roles, responsibilities, authorities, requirements, measures, and performance Assess the processLessons learned and measurement results from process performance on projects should be used as significant sources from which to identify improvementsImprove the processPrioritize and implement the identified improvement opportunities7
Life Cycle Model Management Process Common approaches and tipsEstablish an organization center of excellence for life cycle model management processes Can become the focal point for the collection of relevant information, dissemination of guidelines, and analysis of assessments and feedbackThey can also develop checklists and other templates to support project assessments to ensure that the predefined measures and criteria are used for evaluationManage the network of relationships - government, industry, and academia8
Infrastructure Management Process “As stated in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, the purpose of the Infrastructure Management Process is to provide the infrastructure and services to projects to support organization
