Based on Society 2. Controlled by i. Customs ii. Legal Control iii. Only aristocrats could wear red shoes (b) Typical Clothing 1. Women i. Dress to floor ii. Ankles were bad/breasts ok 2. Men i. NOBILITY-everyone looks up to them ii. Feminine-Fluffy ballet slippers, high heels, garter and hose iii. Can afford it iv. Unpractical- don’t need to wear practical clothes 3) 1789 FASHION i) Bourgeois (1) Rise of the bourgeois (a) Rights of man and citizens- Equality so fashion laws are done away with 1. Law passed-people can wear whatever but women can’t wear
