Karen, I agree with your post. Nurses should be included in each aspect of the SDLC project. My organization also had nurses help with fine tuning the EHR. Each area has its own specialized screen that helps with the ease of charting. Since nurses comprise 55% of the entire health workforce, it is imperative that they are included in every step of the SDLC; failure to which a system can be developed that fails to fulfill the needs of an organization (McGonagall & Mastrian, 2015).
