There are many ways to get young people involved in the political process. However, there is not a best way. In my opinion, most young people do not get involved in the political process because they feel like their voices will not be heard. A lot of them, myself included, feel like older people will not take us seriously. I feel that there are injustices being committed, but when I speak up about them, I get called a "whiny, dumb, and ignorant female teenager". I do not think that speaking up is whiny or dumb, especially when it is an issue that is widespread, such as racial equality. Additionally, I do not think I am ignorant if I have plenty of credible statistics and sources to support my arguments. That being said, one way to get young people involved in the political process is to take them seriously because it will showthem that their voices matter. This will encourage them to take part in it.I have noticed that some young people do not get involved because they feel that their involvement will not change anything. They feel that they are not capable of making great changes for their country. Another way to get young people involved in the political process is to encourage them and make them realize that they are capable. This can be done by educating them on how they can get involved. This can be done by also offering more opportunities, such as internships and programs, to them. They do have the potential to benefit their country because they have fresh minds as well as an abundance of energy.
