BSE 2484 LAB 14 (Electrical Measurements) STATION # 1 (Conductors) An ohmmeter can be used to perform several tests including circuit “continuity”! Use the ohmmeter at this station to determine the condition of each conductor segment on the wooden block. Be sure to set the operating mode to Ohms and the set the range to 0 -200 Ohms! Record the condition of each conductor segment as either “good” or “bad” in the appropriate blank. The condition of conductor # 1 Blank # 1 The condition of conductor # 2 Blank # 2 The condition of conductor # 3 Blank # 3 The condition of conductor # 4 Blank # 4 The condition of conductor # 5 Blank # 5 Note ohmmeters are connected in parallel

BSE 2484 LAB 14 (Electrical Measurements) STATION # 2 (Circuit Test) A test light is another tool that can be used to check the continuity of a circuit. Use the test light at this station to determine why the light is not illuminated. Do not disconnect any wires: find the problem using only the test light. Is the voltage source the cause of the circuit failure (yes or no?) Blank # 6 Is one of the conductor segments the cause of the circuit failure if so which one is bad? Blank # 7 Is the light bulb the cause of the circuit failure (yes or no?) Blank # 8 Note test lights are connected in parallel

BSE 2484 LAB 14 (Electrical Measurements) STATION # 3 (Resistors) Opposition to flow in electrical circuits is called resistance. Resistance is measured in Ohms by using an ohmmeter.
